During his stay in Senegal, Adnane, the Moroccan merchant, marries Annatto, a beautiful woman of mixed race, Franco-Senegalese; their union was a "marriage of pleasure". The young Muslim breaks the rule and brings his wife with him to Morocco despite the expiration of the marriage contract.
